Amazing Kicken Chicken

Kicken chicken is a recipe that I adapted from a recipe that I found somewhere. It is a great main dish or as an appetizer. A little spicy but delicious. Have you ever had Bang Bang Shrimp at Bonefish Grill? That is one of my favorite dishes of all time! I came across a recipe for Bang Bang chicken, and I don’t know where I found it.

I loved the recipe, but I have changed it and made it my own and changed the name to Kicken Chicken. And it is now one of the most delicious recipes I have ever made, and therefore, I want to share it with you. As a result of the changes I have made to the original recipe to make it more to my liking, I think it is amazing!!

You are going to love the crispy texture and the sweet chili sauce paired with the perfect wine from our discovery wine club. Alongside a serving of yellow rice and a garden salad, you have a perfect summer meal.

Ok, you probably want to know what you need, so here goes.

For the sauce:

1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup sweet chili sauce
1 T hot sauce
2T Honey
Salt and Pepper to taste

For the Chicken

Directions for Kicken Chicken

  • Step 1
    • First, combine all sauce ingredients in a small mixing bowl. Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve. At least 1 hour.
  • Step 2
    • In a medium bowl, combine the flour, cornstarch, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Then in the same bowl, add the hot sauce, egg, and buttermilk. Whisk until you create a smoother batter. Toss in the chicken strips and set aside.
  • Step 3
    • In a separate mixing bowl, add the Panko.
  • Step 4
    • Heat about 1/2 inch of oil in a deep skillet over medium-high heat. Then add the chicken to the oil; be careful not to overcook the chicken.
  • Step 5
    • Place the battered chicken strips in the Panko one at a time until well-coated. Carefully add to the oil and fry on both sides until crispy and cooked through, about 3 minutes. Place fried chicken on a paper towel to absorb the excess moisture. Repeat until you have fried all of the chicken pieces.
  • Step 6
    • Drizzle the sauce over the fried chicken and serve with the extra sauce for dipping. Therefore, the remaining sauce will enhance the chicken.

This is a pretty simple recipe. As a result, it only takes about 30 minutes to prepare, and it serves six people. You can also use this as an appetizer if you like. Just as you would Bang Bang shrimp. Consequently, you would just cut the chicken into bite-sized pieces. I hope you like my Kicken Chicken as much as I do.

Buffalo-style wings are now one of the most popular foods in the US, having skyrocketed in popularity in recent years. This kind of chicken wing is typically served with ranch dressing or blue cheese and has a spicy, acidic flavor. Usually made up of vinegar, hot sauce, and butter, the spicy sauce is used to fry the wings. Teressa Bellissimo, the bar’s proprietor, is credited with creating the dish in 1964 at Buffalo, New York’s Anchor Bar. The original purpose of the recipe was to use up extra chicken wings, which were inexpensive and easily accessible at the time. Since then, the dish has grown in popularity, becoming a mainstay at numerous eateries and frequently served at Super Bowl gatherings.
