Fried Pickles In The Air Fryer

Fried pickles are one of our favorite starters and the restaurant down the street has the best fried pickles. My husband has asked me to try to make them at home so I thought maybe I would give it a go. How hard can it be? I started looking for recipes and there are a lot some simple ones, fried pickles are simple. How could a recipe for fried pickles be made complicated? Well, believe me, some of the recipes were so complicated it took me two days just to read them!! I don’t want complicated I just wanted a simple recipe that I could wipe up in a few minutes and enjoy without a whole lot of effort!! So here we go!!

This is an air fryer recipe that turned out pretty crisp pickle chips that are tasty and easy to make.

Fried pickles

Ingredients

  • 1 jar of pickle chips (hamburger dill pickle chips)
  • 1/2 Cup of Flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 Tablespoon water
  • 1/4 teaspoon hot sauce
  • 1 1/2 Cups bread crumbs (I like Panko)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried dill
  • cooking spray (I use Olive Oil)

Let’s Put It Together

  • Preheat your air fryer to 400 degrees
  • Drain your pickles and pat them dry with paper towels
  • You need three bowls, 1. place the flour, 2. whisk the eggs, water, and hot sauce, and 3. breadcrumbs and seasonings.
  • Now dredge each pickle in the flour, then dip the pickle in the egg mixture, and then into the breadcrumbs, press the crumbs so they stick to the pickles.
  • Spray each pickle with cooking spray and place them in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Cook them for 5 minutes, flip the pickles and cook an additional 4-6 minutes until they are browned and crispy.
  • Allow cooling for 2 minutes before serving.

Now that you have the recipe for the pickles you need a great dipping sauce to go with them. A quick and easy dipping sauce is just to add your favorite hot sauce to ranch dressing, easy peasy!!

You are now ready to enjoy your Air Fryer pickles on the patio with a glass of your favorite wine. I would suggest a nice white wine like our Freedom Chardonnay or if you prefer a red may our Nile Eddy. These wines are both available from our Wine of the Month Club check it out here.
