Recipes and Wine

Recipes and wine. I love to cook and sometimes I cook with wine and sometimes I put it in the food I am cooking. My husband loves to eat so we are a great pair. On this page, I want to share some of my favorite recipes with you. My husband comes from a Polish family. When I met him he was a strictly meat and potatoes and sauerkraut kind of guy. He won’t eat cheese except on pizza. Therefore, I have to adjust a lot of my recipes to accommodate his tastes but I have learned to adjust.

Bacon wrapped pickle spears make a great appetizer for game day, happy hour, or any time you want a quick appetizer. And who does not like bacon? You can pretty much wrap anything in bacon and have a crowd-pleasing appetizer. Serve these with ranch dressing for dipping or maybe blue cheese, or even that Chic filet sauce that we had on the wine and dine a couple of weeks ago. I think any dipping sauce would be good with this appetizer. Be adventurous and try what you like. Get your bacon fix here.

Banana Nut Bread and Fine Wine: Banana Nut Bread and Fine Wine! Who would think that would be a great wine pairing? Think PB&J and wine! No one thought that would work, and look at how well that went down!! Check out my Banana Nut Bread Recipe and let me know what you think!!

Chicken and stuffing

Chicken and stuffing you say!! When it comes to quick and easy this is a great recipe that everyone will love!! It only takes about 15 minutes to put it together and 30 minutes to bake and you are ready to eat. It is also very versatile. You can add veggies to it and make it a one-dish meal or serve the veggies on the side. Or just add a salad and bread and your dinner is complete. So Yummy!!

Chicken and White Wine Chicken is one of my favorite meats to cook with and I do cook a lot of it. This recipe is one of my favorites, actually, they are all my favorites. I hope you will try this one. I think you will like it.

Perogies and Fine Wine With my husband being Polish I was afraid to try this one for a long time but once I did it was fun to make. It’s like little ravioli only stuffed with potatoes, sauerkraut, bacon, etc. The time it takes to make it is well worth it. Try it you will like it.

Steak and Cabernet What can I say about this one? Almost everyone loves a good steak and this one has bacon on it. So what’s not to like. And it is easy and quick. Just light up the grill cook up a little bacon and your meal is on the table in just a few minutes but tastes like it took much longer. The Recipe is here.

Upside Down Meatloaf: Meatloaf with a brown sugar topping in the bottom of the pan is a different take on a favorite family meal. Comfort foods are the best, especially when it is cold outside. However, a good meatloaf is delicious any time of year. This one is made differently than I have ever made a meatloaf. It is not formed and shaped like a football, as I have always done, and it is not covered in the ketchup, brown sugar, and mustard concoction with just a hint of horseradish my mom taught me to make. Try this recipe you just might like it!!
